Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior IT Program Manager in Illinois to lead multi-year, cross-functional IT programs from planning through delivery. You will drive scope, budgets, and schedules while coordinating internal teams and external partners to achieve business objectives.

The role requires extensive experience with PM methodologies, governance, and stakeholder management in regulated settings, plus strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 9 years in IT project management, business systems analysis, or related disciplines
• At least 6 years managing multiple concurrent projects and programs
• Experience leading delivery through third-party vendors and partners
• Expertise in PM methodologies, governance, and delivery best practices
• Experience in regulated environments
• Proven track record delivering large-scale programs on time and budget
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Stakeholder management with senior leadership and executives
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and align cross-functional teams
• Experience with PLM and/or LIMS is preferred
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence
• Executive-level communication and presentation skills
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams
• 10% travel willingness

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and delivery of complex IT programs
• Establish program goals, scope, success criteria, and key deliverables with business and IT leadership
• Coordinate internal teams, business stakeholders, external vendors, and solution integrators
• Manage scope changes, issues, risks, and dependencies; drive resolution
• Monitor performance against timelines and budgets; implement corrective actions
• Develop and execute program plans; secure resources and approvals
• Provide executive reports, dashboards, and governance reviews
• Coordinate resource allocation across initiatives
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams
• Ensure compliance with corporate, divisional, quality, regulatory, and IT policies
• Make decisions on budgets, schedules, and resources
• Deliver solutions supporting operations, product development, lab processes, and enterprise goals
• Support PLM and LIMS capabilities and digital transformation objectives
