Job summary

Matheson is seeking an experienced Inventory/Procurement Manager in Irving, TX to optimize stocking levels and service performance. You will manage replenishment, EOQ quantities, and vendor relationships while ensuring cost efficiency and compliance with vendor programs.

Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration are essential. The role requires 5+ years in procurement, knowledge of gas cylinder products, and the ability to train location staff.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business or Engineering with 5+ years in operational procurement.
• Experience with industrial, medical and specialty gas cylinders is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership and strategic sourcing.
• Strong ability to report results to multiple levels of the organization.
• Highly reactive and proactive with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Procure stocking inventory at lowest cost while meeting service levels.
• Verify purchase order pricing for cost accuracy.
• Monitor cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
• Provide inventory management training to branch personnel.
• Process spot orders, drop-shipments, and rush orders as needed.
• Manage vendor returns and dead stock per policy.
• Support pricing, sourcing non-stock items, and supplier terms.
• Oversee VMI programs regionally and ensure their viability.
• Resolve shipping discrepancies and file freight damage claims.
• Coordinate with accounts payable on PO discrepancies.
