Job summary

Indy Equipment & Supply is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations across three locations. You will scout new product lines, negotiate high-level contracts, and maintain precise inventory levels.

A proactive negotiator who balances data-driven decisions with strong vendor relationships will thrive. You will also train store teams, streamline purchasing processes, and collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payments and healthy credit standing.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management (Retail or Multi-unit experience preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to interpret data and inventory metrics.
• Proven track record of negotiating terms and pricing with suppliers.
• Strong understanding of Min/Max logic and cycle counting procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for vendor meetings and training.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: manage vendor relations and scout new suppliers.
• Contract Negotiation: lead pricing and payment term negotiations to maximize profitability.
• Market Analysis: research new product lines and monitor competitor pricing.
• Inventory & Data Management: oversee PO issuance/receiving and optimize stock levels.
• Multi-Location Balancing: coordinate transfers to balance inventory across sites.
• Financial Collaboration: work with AP to ensure timely vendor payments.
• Auditing & Compliance: conduct cycle counts and oversee year-end inventory.
• Leadership & Training: train staff on purchasing protocols and supervise team members.
