Job summary

Matheson Tri-Gas is seeking a Director of Applications Engineering & Projects in Irving, TX. You will lead a team delivering engineered application solutions for bulk and packaged gases, guiding development, manufacturing, and services to grow market share and profitability.

You will manage budgets, inventories, and pricing strategies, while collaborating with Sales, Marketing and R&D to drive innovation and customer value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
• 10+ years in industrial gases or related engineering/project management experience.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of application engineers and technicians to support bulk, packaged, and specialty gas businesses.
• Direct technical aspects of gas application development, equipment services, and design.
• Oversee application equipment manufacturing operations, budgeting, and inventory control.
• Consolidate product lines and parts inventory to improve quoting and supplier negotiations.
• Drive in-house equipment engineering and service capabilities and promote innovation.
• Coordinate with Commercialization, Sales and Marketing to promote capabilities and train customers.
