Job summary

Matheson Tri-Gas in Irving, TX is seeking an Inventory Procurement Specialist to establish stocking levels, manage replenishment, and ensure service levels across the region. You will maintain accurate inventory data and coordinate with the Strategic Sourcing team to align with Preferred Vendor and Private Label programs.

The role requires 5+ years in operational procurement, strong vendor management, and the ability to train location staff on inventory controls.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in operational procurement (≥5 years).
• Knowledge of industrial, medical, and specialty gas cylinders is a plus.
• Strong leadership and strategic sourcing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Procure stocking inventory at lowest total cost per program requirements.
• Forecast EOQ quantities to maximize inventory turns and service levels.
• Verify purchase order pricing for cost accuracy.
• Monitor cycle counting and train branch personnel on inventory practices.
• Process spot orders, drop shipments, and rush orders as needed.
• Manage vendor VMI programs regionally and ensure accuracy.
• Assist sales with sourcing/non-stock items and resolve PO discrepancies.
