Job summary

Sysco, a global leader in foodservice distribution, seeks an Inventory/Purchasing specialist to drive commodity replenishment and inventory control. You will manage stock levels, reduce spoilage, and optimize DSO while coordinating with shipping, warehousing and supplier teams.

Proficiency in DPR and advanced Excel will support KPI driven performance. The role requires 3+ years of experience in inventory/purchasing within a retail/wholesale/distribution setting, with strong cross-functional

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years Inventory Management/Purchasing experience; equivalent education/experience considered.
• Experience in retail/wholesale/distribution environments.
• Experience with distributor SKUs and large SKU counts (10,000+).
• Strong Excel skills and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory levels while maximizing customer service.
• Manage DSO, aged/obsolete inventory and shrink to meet company goals.
• Collaborate with merchandising, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrate DPR proficiency to drive performance via KPIs and dashboards.
• Work with logistics to maximize supply chain efficiencies.
• Develop programs with inbound planning to optimize receiving/warehousing.
• Manage SKU counts and resolve replenishment issues.
• Execute purchasing of new items and proper system setup.
• Process Salesforce 360 requests (NISR and MSR) timely.
• Respond to market conditions within corporate guidelines.
• Understand seasonal trends and commodity purchasing dynamics.
