Job summary

Tucson Water seeks an Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) Coordinator to drive its strategic goals by monitoring, analyzing, and advancing legislative and regulatory initiatives affecting operations, water resources, funding, and public trust. The role builds relationships, manages communications, contracts, and agreements, and supervises administrative support.

Under the Public Affairs Administrator, the IGR Coordinator collaborates with city divisions, government officials, and stakeholders,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Five years of relevant experience.
• Any combination of education and experience may be substituted year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and report on legislation, regulations, and policy trends relevant to Tucson Water and City operations.
• Work closely with Tucson Water divisions to ensure cohesive intergovernmental strategies.
• Develop clear policy briefs, position statements, fact sheets, talking points, and correspondence for leadership and stakeholders.
• Research and translate technical/regulatory information into accessible language for non-experts and the public.
• Maintain and populate tracking systems and legislative records for intergovernmental work.
• Coordinate and support engagement with government officials, regulatory agencies, and associations.
• Represent Tucson Water at meetings, hearings, and conferences; provide timely updates to leadership.
