Job summary

The Town of Gilbert is seeking a proactive Intergovernmental Relations Manager to support the Department Director in shaping the Town’s legislative program and regional activities.

You will represent the Town before federal, state, and regional agencies, build relationships with elected officials and staff, and prepare reports, briefing materials, and testimony for leadership and Council. This at-will exempt role invites hybrid work arrangements in Arizona.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience, including three years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Town's interests with federal, state, regional, and local government entities and strengthen relationships with elected officials and staff.
  • Research and analyze proposed federal and state legislation affecting the Town and share findings with department directors.
  • Track and monitor legislation, and provide reports and policy recommendations to the Executive Team and Town Council.
  • Prepare reports, briefing materials, and presentations for the Town Manager, senior leadership, Mayor, and Council.
  • Coordinate meetings and events, and represent Town leadership at regional functions and conferences.
  • Prepare position statements, talking points, and testimony for Council, staff, and media engagements.
  • Manage special projects and provide backup representation for the Director as needed.
