Job summary

The Intergovernmental relations coordinator at City of Tucson supports Tucson Water’s strategic goals by monitoring and advancing policy initiatives affecting operations, water resources, funding, and public trust. It builds relationships, manages communications and contracts, and leads administrative support for intergovernmental activities.

The role travels as needed and works under the Public Affairs Administrator to represent the utility’s interests and mission.

Qualifications

  • Education Bachelor's degree
  • Experience Five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Equivalency Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on legislation, regulations, and policy trends relevant to Tucson Water and City of Tucson operations.
  • Develop clear, compelling policy briefs, position statements, fact sheets, talking points, and correspondence for utility leadership and stakeholders.
  • Represent Tucson Water and the City of Tucson at meetings, hearings, workgroups, and conferences; provide timely updates to internal leadership.
  • This position will require travel and coordinate intergovernmental programs and special projects.
