Job summary

Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex cross-functional initiatives across IT, Operations, and business units. You will drive planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring projects stay on time, within scope and budget, while aligning with strategic priorities.

The role requires strong communication, governance, and the ability to manage third-party vendors and multiple stakeholders in a regulated banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of eight years of experience leading complex projects in IT, Operations, or a regulated industry.
• Project Management Professional certification (PMP) or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery, including scope definition, planning, scheduling, resourcing, budgeting, execution, monitoring, and closeout for assigned projects and programs.
• Define project objectives, deliverables, success criteria, and priorities with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, dependencies, milestones, and risk registers.
• Manage project risks, issues, and change control, escalating appropriately and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Provide regular project status reporting to sponsors, senior leadership, and governance forums.
• Coordinate and manage third-party vendors to ensure clear deliverables and alignment with capacity and priorities.
• Ensure compliance with PMO standards, policies, and governance processes.
