Job summary

Destination: Home, a supporting organization of Silicon Valley Community Foundation, seeks a Senior Initiatives Officer to coordinate strategic initiatives focused on homelessness prevention and supportive housing in Santa Clara County.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Initiatives, you will manage day-to-day operations, develop new programs with partners, and ensure timely grant administration and reporting. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Leadership in implementing short- and long-term operational plans and developing departmental systems and processes.
• 2-3 years' experience managing day-to-day operations of a department or business function, including supervision.
• 2-5 years' experience in grants administration, program development, budgets, nonprofit compliance, and operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate system-level thinking.
• High degree of independence, initiative, responsibility, and accountability.
• Commitment to serving our most vulnerable residents.
• Entrepreneurial spirit in seeking new and creative ways to accomplish work and mission.
• Attend events and meetings as required.
• Business and financial acumen, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating with partner organizations to implement key system change initiatives and communicate strategic direction, investments and impact.
• Support development of new strategic initiative work with internal and external partners; design new system change efforts and submit funding proposals.
• Maintain ongoing verbal and written communication with grantees and funders to ensure timely grant payments, budgeting, and performance tracking; develop operational plans and processes; evaluate performance and resource needs.
