Job summary

Webb County in Laredo, TX seeks an Administrator of Infrastructure and Public Works to provide executive-level oversight and strategic direction for Engineering, Road and Bridge, Utilities, and Building Maintenance. You will coordinate with Commissioners Court and department directors to align budgets, projects, and long-range infrastructure plans.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least ten years in public administration with senior leadership experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Planning, or a closely related field.
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional experience in public administration or related fields, including at least five (5) years in senior management.

Responsibilities

Provide executive-level oversight and coordination of assigned county departments (Engineering, Road and Bridge, Utilities, Building Maintenance).
Coordinate priorities, goals, timelines, and performance expectations with department directors and Commissioners Court.
Oversee major capital and infrastructure projects, budgets, and long-range planning.
Prepare reports and recommendations for Commissioners Court and County Judge.
Collaborate with Budget Office, Auditor's Office, Purchasing, and other offices to align operations with policy.
Develop budgets, CIP plans, and resource allocations; drive organizational efficiency and accountability.
Represent Webb County in intergovernmental meetings and with external partners.
