Job summary

The Webb County Engineering Department seeks a County Engineer to lead planning, directing, and supervising projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with budgets and timelines while coordinating with the County Judge, Commissioners, and other departments.

The ideal candidate has a PE license in Texas, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, at least seven years of professional experience with three in supervision, and proven ability to manage multiple projects and communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Texas-registered Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum seven (7) years of professional experience overseeing commercial and residential construction.
• Three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily project oversight and construction review of county projects.
• Ensure compliance with procurements, budgets, costs, and timelines.
• Review and recommend payments to contractors, engineers, and architects.
• Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and discipline personnel.
• Develop budget recommendations for capital improvements and manage budgets.
• Coordinate with county departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Plan and manage rights-of-way and utility relocations for infrastructure projects.
• Prepare reports for County Judge and Commissioners.
