Job summary

Middlesex County is seeking a Workforce Development specialist to build and sustain employer relationships, perform labor market analyses, and identify training opportunities across sectors. You will coordinate with training providers and educational partners to align workforce needs with talent pipelines.

The role requires 2–3 years in business development or industry relations, a bachelor’s degree, and residency in New Jersey. Local travel and occasional evening hours may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business administration, Workforce Development, Labor Relations, or related field.
• 2–3 years in business development, employer engagement, workforce/economic development, or industry relations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with employers, trade associations, and industry partners within assigned sectors.
• Gather and analyze industry labor market data, trends, and workforce needs.
• Identify in-demand occupations, skills gaps, and opportunities for industry-driven training partnerships.
• Provide regular updates to inform the Division Head of Business Services.
• Collaborate with educational institutions and training providers to build sector-specific pipelines.
