Job summary

Barry Callebaut in Eddystone, US, seeks a Senior Buyer to lead site procurement, combining hands-on execution with strategic sourcing to support indirect spend across CAPEX, MRO, and facilities services. You will ensure value, risk management, and compliance while delivering reliable supply for manufacturing operations.

You will partner with engineering, maintenance, quality, and finance, crafting local sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and aligning with global purchasing standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a technical field.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• 8+ years procurement experience in international manufacturing environments.
• Proven sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management expertise.
• Experience with CAPEX, MRO, technical services and site procurement.
• Autonomy, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sourcing and purchasing for site CAPEX, MRO, technical services, spare parts, and facility-related needs.
• Develop and execute local sourcing strategies for indirect spend with best total cost of ownership.
• Lead supplier identification, qualification, and negotiation for competitive agreements.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, quality, and finance to align procurement with priorities.
• Apply strategic, tactical, spot buys, and contract-based procurement approaches as appropriate.
• Clarify internal specifications to enable efficient sourcing and reduce lead times.
• Build a prioritized action pipeline with spend analysis to drive cost optimization and supplier performance.
• Maintain supplier relationships, including contract governance and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with Group purchasing policies, tendering rules, and audit expectations.
• Act as a liaison with Global Purchasing Organization to align local with global standards.
