Job summary

Barry Callebaut Group in Eddystone, Pennsylvania, seeks a Senior Buyer to lead site indirect procurement (CAPEX, MRO, technical services) and support manufacturing operations with a strong mix of strategic sourcing and day-to-day purchasing.

The role requires collaboration with engineering, maintenance, QA, and finance to optimize cost, ensure compliance, and align local sourcing with global procurement standards; a high-autonomy, fast-paced environment offering growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a technical field is required.
• Fluent English written and spoken.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of SAP, Coupa and/or IBM Maximo is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of procurement experience in an international company, preferably in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sourcing and purchasing for site CAPEX, MRO, technical services, spare parts, facility-related services, utilities, laboratory consumables/services/equipment, and other indirect needs.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for local/site indirect spend to ensure best total cost of ownership.
• Lead supplier identification, qualification, and negotiation processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, quality, finance and other stakeholders to align procurement plans with priorities.
• Apply strategic, tactical, spot buys, contracts, and structured negotiations as appropriate.
• Refine internal specifications to enable efficient sourcing and reduce lead times.
• Build a prioritized action pipeline with spend analysis and stakeholder alignment for cost optimization and supplier performance.
• Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiation and performance follow-up, ensuring expected service and cost outcomes.
