Job summary

Fermi America seeks a Procurement Specialist to manage end-to-end sourcing for indirect spend, including office, IT, and professional services. You will optimize supplier performance, drive cost savings, and ensure policy compliance across requisition-to-PO cycles.

The role balances tactical purchasing with category strategy, collaborating with Finance and Legal to meet budgets and timelines. A strong Excel and ERP background is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
• Working knowledge of sourcing and negotiation fundamentals.
• Experience with ERP/procurement systems (Oracle, SAP, Coupa, or similar).
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze spend data.

Responsibilities

• Manage the requisition-to-purchase-order (PO) process for assigned categories, ensuring accuracy and timely issuance.
• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers through RFQs/RFPs; negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and monitor performance against SLAs and KPIs.
• Identify and execute cost-savings opportunities within spend categories.
• Track open POs and expedite orders to prevent delays or stockouts.
• Ensure purchasing activity complies with procurement policy and budget constraints.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and requestors to define requirements and resolve issues.
• Maintain procurement records, contracts, and vendor files in ERP systems.
