Job summary

KBR, Inc. in El Segundo, CA is seeking an experienced Strategic ICD Engineer to lead the development of Satellite Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for spacecraft, ground systems, payloads, and cross-system interfaces in a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment.

You will collaborate with the MSEIT team and prime contractors, prepare interface diagrams and data dictionaries, drive issue resolution, and ensure compliance with DoD programs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years in satellite systems or aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years DoD program experience.
• 5+ years MBSE experience.
• Experience developing ICDs for complex systems.
• Proficient in Cameo, DOORS, MATLAB.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of ICDs for spacecraft, ground systems, payloads and cross-system interfaces in MBSE.
• Develop interface diagrams, data dictionaries, message formats and telemetry mappings.
• Identify interface risks and drive issue resolution across engineering teams.
• Support system integration and test activities with authoritative interface docs.
• Ensure documentation complies with standards, program requirements, and regs.
• Coordinate ICWGs and brief Prime proposals; align models with baselines.
