Job summary

Certerra is seeking an HR Business Partner to deliver strategic HR support across multiple divisions in the Dallas area. The role blends analytics, talent strategy, and hands-on HR operations to strengthen workforce capability and drive growth in a safety-critical environment.

You will coach leaders, drive change, and partner with local managers to attract, develop, and retain top technical and field staff while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; HR certification preferred.
  • 5+ years HR generalist or HRBP experience, ideally within construction, engineering, industrial services, or other field-based environments.
  • Demonstrated analytical rigor and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand operational drivers in CMT and construction environments.
  • Proven ability to coach leaders, influence decision-making, and drive organizational change.
  • Experience supporting multisite or multi-division operations.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to travel to job sites, laboratories, and regional offices within the DFW area.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic partnership with division leaders to align workforce strategies with business goals and project pipelines.
  • Utilize data, metrics, and trend analysis to diagnose organizational challenges and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Support leadership in change management initiatives, including expansion, restructuring, and process improvements.
  • Talent acquisition & workforce planning across field technicians, inspectors, engineers, project managers, and admin roles.
  • Develop strategies to attract specialized technical talent, including NICET certified technicians and laboratory personnel.
  • Support succession planning, career pathing, and development for emerging leaders and specialists.
  • Coach managers on leadership effectiveness, communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.
  • Build leadership capability through structured coaching, feedback loops, and development plans.
  • Reinforce a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching on performance issues, investigations, and corrective action as needed.
  • Identify skill gaps and partner on targeted training programs (technical, leadership, safety, compliance).
  • Support safety and operations with field-specific training requirements (OSHA, NICET, etc.).
  • Assist with compensation reviews, job evaluations, and market benchmarking for technical/engineering roles.
  • Ensure accurate HR transactions including promotions and transfers; collaborate with Payroll and Finance on pay issues.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and Texas employment laws and audit readiness.
  • Foster a positive, safety-focused culture and employee engagement across divisions.
