Job summary

NC State University is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to deliver division-wide HR expertise and program administration for the Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA). Responsibilities include leave administration, non-permanent employment processes, and compliance with university policies.

You will partner with DASA leadership, HR colleagues, and campus stakeholders to optimize HR workflows, ensure timely service, and maintain accurate HR data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
• Experience with HR policies and employee relations.
• Preferred: HR certification such as aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply university policies, procedures, employment regulations, and HR best practices to provide guidance, resolve complex issues, ensure compliance, and develop effective solutions that support operational and client needs.
• Collaborate with DASA leadership, managers, employees, HR partners, and University Human Resources to address HR matters, strengthen processes, and support the division's strategic direction.
• Utilize PeopleSoft, PeopleAdmin, and other HR technologies to process, monitor, and track HR actions while maintaining accurate HR data.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, and program administration to promote efficiency and effective service delivery across the division.
• Provide professional, timely, and responsive HR services to clients and stakeholders, building productive working relationships and addressing needs with sound judgment and discretion.
