Job summary

Mecklenburg EMS Agency is actively seeking an Human Resources Manager to lead the HR and Safety departments in Charlotte, NC. The role reports to the Director of Employee Services and oversees risk, compliance, and employee health and wellness.

You will guide daily HR operations, mentor leaders, and drive workforce initiatives aligned with MEDIC’s mission and 24/7 EMS operational readiness. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least five years of demonstrated experience as a high-level HR professional.
• Working knowledge of employment and labor laws, safety and compliance, and HIPAA.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Effective communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• A master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent is preferred. PHR/SPHR certification, SHRM membership, North Carolina notary designation, and a Manager of Environmental, Safety and Health Program certification or similar credential are also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop the team and build relationships across MEDIC.
• Manage staffing plans, succession planning, and workforce initiatives.
