Mission Health in Asheville, NC is seeking a Supervisor EMS to oversee departmental operations and supervise EMS personnel. This role encompasses training, compliance with regulations, and ensuring effective emergency services.

Supports departmental operations, programs, and activities for Emergency Medical Services and supervises assigned employees. Under the direction of the EMS Manager performs duties of training on NCOEMS protocols and required equipment, collects and provides peer review data. Participates in staff performance reviews and corrective action as necessary when asked by manager to do so. Assists with ensuring coverage for ambulance needs in the neighboring counties within the region as necessary according to mutual aid guidelines. The role is responsible to maintain an environment of highly trained paramedic level capable services, providing safe & secure transports for patients. Duties include working with the Regional Emergency Departments Leadership team, and Mission Emergency Department personnel. Also responsible for staff clinical training, compliance with NCOEMS regulations, required driving training and testing, patient safety events, hazardous materials response, infectious disease response, regional communications and emergency management functions for the department; visitor safety support; supervision of EMS personnel; other miscellaneous duties; supports Department Manager in meeting departmental, organizational, and regulatory requirements. Duties also require this role to be prepared to provide emergency services according to NCOEMS requirements for paramedics to provide direct care services.
Required Education: Associate’s degree in EMS or related field.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Services, Emergency Management or related field.
Required License: EMT-P certification, North Carolina Paramedic certification, BLS, North Carolina driver’s license or must procure one within 30 days of employment unless an out-of-state commuter. Must have at least two years of satisfactory driving experience and be at least 25 years of age. Must meet insurance guidelines.
Preferred License: National Registry.
Required Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in EMS. Possess computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, Internet usage, Intranet software.
Preferred Experience: Previous administrative leadership experience in an EMS agency.
