Job summary

Mills Auto Group is seeking a Human Resources/Payroll Administrator to manage day-to-day HR admin and payroll processing for our dealership team. You will work with Paycom/ADP and maintain employee records, ensuring compliance and timely payroll services across our multi-state operations.

You will partner with the Controller and General Manager, support onboarding and benefits, handle confidential information, and serve as a trusted resource for staff.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in HR/Payroll roles, preferably in an automotive dealership setting.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience and HRIS proficiency (Paycom/ADP or similar).
• Solid understanding of wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and benefits administration.
• Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and integrity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across departments.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: manage end-to-end multi-state payroll, including commissions and withholdings.
• HR Administration & Onboarding: coordinate new hires, onboarding, offboarding, and records.
• Compliance & Documentation: document performance, attendance, and compliance issues with digital records.
• Benefits Support: assist with enrollment and questions on medical, retirement, and time-off plans.
• Financial & Operational Alignment: review payroll expenses, audit hours, verify incentives, and ensure internal controls.
• Team & Employee Support: act as a trusted advisor and support staff development.
• Regulatory Risk Management: ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
