Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to partner with employees and leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance and engaging workforce development. This hands-on role executes HR initiatives across disciplines and uses data to drive decisions in a fast-paced environment.

This position is on-site at Wallops Island, VA or Virginia Beach, VA with flexibility for occasional extended hours and travel. Strong HRIS and payroll knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field plus 5+ years of HR experience across disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR policy application.
• Self-starter with ability to manage HR tasks with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with HRIS, Excel, and digital collaboration tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Payroll and benefits process experience is a plus.
• Government contracting experience and certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact and build trusted relationships with employees and leaders.
• Provide professional-level support across HR disciplines including employee relations and performance management.
• Coach managers on policy application and investigations with HR leadership.
• Support onboarding, transitions, and exit interviews with accurate records.
• Assist with payroll and benefits questions, coordinating with Benefits and Payroll.
• Independently manage HR initiatives and ensure timely execution.
• Anticipate workforce needs and streamline processes with technology and automation.
• Use HRIS reporting and Excel to validate data and support planning.
• Partner with HR systems/IT to troubleshoot issues and improve self-service tools.
