Job summary

Green Thumb in Danville, VA, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to align HR initiatives with our Production facility's rapid growth. You will partner with site leadership to drive talent management, engagement, and regulatory compliance across the organization.

The role requires 7+ years in strategic HR, a Bachelor's in a related field, and proven experience with large hourly workforces and union environments. This position is onsite at our Virginia plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or organizational development.
• 7+ years as a strategic HR Business Partner in high-growth environments.
• Experience supporting production, distribution, or rapid-scale operations.
• Experience with a large hourly workforce.
• Union environment leadership strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Identify talent needs, risks, and gaps; define career paths and succession planning.
• Scale culture and engagement to become a best place to work in the cannabis industry.
• Serve as confidential resource for employees and managers on relations issues; conduct investigations.
• Lead change management initiatives and communicate plans to mitigate risks.
• Develop and implement scalable HR programs and processes across sites.
• Manage relationships with site leadership and the broader People team to achieve objectives.
• Ensure compliance with employment law and leave policies; partner with Total Rewards.
• Support cross-functional projects with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Org Development.
• Oversee administrative routines: orientation, data maintenance, and safety records.
