Job summary

LeoForce is seeking an HR Business Partner to join our Hampton, VA plant. You will act as a trusted HR partner to plant leadership, guiding employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role covers daily HR operations, talent acquisition for hourly and salaried staff, and compliance with employment laws. A Bachelor’s in HR or related field and 3+ years of manufacturing HR experience are required; PHR/SHRM-CP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field required.
• 3+ years HR experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
• Experience supporting hourly workforce and frontline supervisors.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• HR Partnership & Operations: advise plant leadership on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
• Employee Relations: serve as primary contact for investigations, discipline, and policy application.
• Performance Management & Development: support reviews, goal setting, and coaching for leaders.
• Talent Acquisition & Retention: collaborate with hiring managers for hourly and salaried roles; drive onboarding and retention.
• Compliance & HR Programs: ensure compliance with laws; administer compensation, benefits, leave, and training.
• Manufacturing Environment Support: maintain strong on-site presence and support safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

HR Business Partnership & Operations

• Act as a trusted HR partner to plant leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning
• Support daily HR operations within a manufacturing environment, including production and hourly workforce needs
• Collaborate with leadership to address workforce challenges and implement practical HR solutions

Employee Relations

• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and company values
• Partner with leadership to foster a positive, compliant, and engaged work environment

Performance Management & Development

• Support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and corrective actions
• Coach supervisors and managers on employee performance, documentation, and feedback
• Assist with training initiatives to improve leadership capability and employee development

Talent Acquisition & Retention

• Partner with hiring managers to support recruiting efforts for hourly and salaried roles
• Develop and implement retention strategies, particularly for production employees
• Help drive onboarding and employee engagement initiatives

Compliance & HR Programs

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Support HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave management, and training
• Maintain accurate HR records and assist with reporting and HR metrics

Manufacturing Environment Support

• Maintain strong on-site presence and engagement with production teams
• Support safety initiatives and reinforce compliance with workplace safety standards
• Understand operational needs such as shift structures, staffing levels, and production demands

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration is required
• 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
• Experience supporting hourly workforce populations and working with front-line supervisors
• Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, food & beverage, distribution, or industrial environments
• Exposure to employee relations investigations and performance management
• HRIS experience (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP)
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification
