Job summary

The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA seeks an experienced HR Business Partner to advise departments on HR strategy and operations. You will handle employee relations, performance management, onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and organizational development with a focus on workforce engagement and retention.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of HR experience, strong knowledge of federal and state laws, and proficiency with Paycom.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive HR experience
• Experience in employee relations, performance management & compliance
• Knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws
• Proficiency with Paycom HRIS/Payroll system
• Background in a strategic HR partner role with multiple departments

Responsibilities

• Act as primary HR partner for assigned departments, aligning HR initiatives with business goals
• Lead investigations, performance improvement plans and employee relations matters
• Oversee onboarding, new hire orientation, and offboarding processes; manage payroll coordination
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations; prepare required documentation
• Analyze HR data to inform decisions and prepare reports for leadership
