Job summary

Virginia Community Colleges in Virginia is seeking a Director of Human Resources Operations to lead day-to-day HR services. You will oversee lifecycle administration, HR systems, recruitment, onboarding, and policy implementation to support the college’s mission and priorities.

As a trusted partner to leadership, you will promote service, accountability, inclusion, and operational excellence across campuses and departments.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible experience in HR operations.
• Experience interpreting employment policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Experience supervising HR professionals and/or support staff.
• Ability to manage confidential personnel information.
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and leadership.
• Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office or comparable applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for HR services.
• Oversee employee lifecycle administration, personnel transactions, HR systems and records.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, policies, and HR compliance.
• Offer employee relations support, reporting, and process improvement.
• Serve as trusted HR partner to college leadership, managers, faculty, and staff.
