Job summary

Tandem Foods seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR across the Los Alamitos & Cypress Campus, maximizing employee performance, culture, and strategic objectives. The HR Manager partners closely with Plant Leadership to provide strategic HR guidance and ensure legal compliance, delivering a best-in-class employee experience for both salaried and hourly teammates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business admin, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years HR experience with at least 2 years in management, preferably in manufacturing.
• SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR/SPHR or similar certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, local employment laws.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the HR team and foster engagement, collaboration, and accountability.
• Partner with Plant Leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support business objectives and organizational growth.
• Provide strategic HR guidance and solutions addressing operational challenges.
• Assess organizational effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve engagement, performance, and culture.
• Collaborate with HR Operations to evaluate and enhance HR policies, procedures, and programs for compliance and better employee experience.
• Build relationships with managers and plant leadership as a trusted HR advisor.
• Consult with leaders on employee relations, performance management, and discipline while ensuring legal compliance.
• Investigation of employee relations matters with confidentiality and proper escalation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Coach and develop leaders to improve communication and leadership effectiveness.
• Lead, coach, and develop HR team through training and performance management.
• Partner with leadership to assess talent, develop succession plans, and strengthen bench strength.
• Oversee hourly recruitment, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Champion a positive, inclusive, high-performing workplace culture.
• Utilize HR metrics and analytics to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
• Lead workforce training and development programs supporting growth and automation initiatives.
• Support organizational change management and drive transformation initiatives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
