Job summary

Great Dane LLC in Chicago is seeking an HR Manager to provide HR direction across employee relations, talent management, and organizational development. You will develop policies, drive HR projects with cross-functional leaders, and ensure compliance with employment laws.

Responsibilities include hiring processes, benefits coordination, and advising staff on employment decisions. A Bachelor's in HR or related field and 5+ years of HR Generalist experience are required. Up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
• Certification: HRCI or SHRM certification preferred.
• Knowledge: Federal and state employment laws.
• Influence: Ability to influence and deliver results in a multi-unit environment.
• Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Presentation: Ability to present information to managers and employees.
• Critical thinking: Must be a critical thinker with logical solutions.

• Travel: Up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Drive a positive and inclusive company culture and increase engagement.
• Assist VP of HR with analytical reports supporting initiatives.
• Attract, retain, and develop our people.
• Provide cost-effective HR solutions.
• Develop and measure world-class policies and guidelines per laws.
• Lead HR projects and support HR initiatives across functions.
• Manage complex employee relations, restructurings, terminations.
• Provide organizational development and change management support.
• Coordinate HR services with operations and corporate HR.
• Offer tactical guidance to Chicago office and field HR.
• Facilitate solutions to employee and leadership issues.
• Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices and laws.
• Oversee hiring processes, onboarding, and vendor contracts.
• Administer medical and leave benefits and enrollments.
• Advise staff on employment decisions and coaching.
• Manage workload and performance of direct reports.
• Ensure compliance and standardization of processes.
