Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese, Inc is seeking an HR Governance Partner to serve as a strategic guardian of organizational integrity. The role oversees leave administration, federal/state reporting, and internal investigations, partnering with Legal and IT to meet HR requirements and drive proactive risk management.

Responsibilities include policy and handbook management, regulatory reporting, audit readiness, and compliance support.

Qualifications

6 years of progressive HR experience, with focus on Employee Relations, HR Operations, or Risk Mitigation.
Ability to conduct complex internal investigations with objective summaries for legal/executive review.
Strong interpersonal and cross-functional partnering skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Policy & Handbook Management: maintain handbook and internal HR policies; translate complex regulations into clear guidelines.
Regulatory Reporting: prepare and file government reports (e.g., New Hire Reporting, EEO-1, VETS-4212) and conduct HR audits.
Audit Preparedness & Advisory: coordinate with external audit firms, prepare pre-audit dashboards, and manage CAPR and corrective actions.
Compliance Support: develop compliance processes, liaison with FMLA administrator, handle notices, and support internal investigations.
