Job summary

Flix is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team, supporting operations in Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA. You will partner with management, administer a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, labor relations, compliance, and people operations, in a high-volume, multi-location transportation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience in a unionized environment.
• Direct experience with collective bargaining, grievances, and labor law.
• HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience improving HR processes, systems, and employee experience.
• Experience in intercity transit or high-volume multi-location transportation operations.
• Experience in DOT-regulated employees and FMCSA familiarity.
• Full-time in-office presence in Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA with travel availability.

Responsibilities

• ER: investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, manager coaching.
• Compliance with federal, state, local employment laws.
• Compensation management: job evaluations, salary benchmarking, classifications, merit reviews, union scales.
• Performance management cycles: goal setting, mid-year, annual evaluations, progressive discipline.
• Leave administration: FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability, personal leave.
• Unemployment claims management and state responses.
• People operations: maintain HRIS data accuracy.
• Onboarding: background checks, I-9, orientations.
