Job summary

Flix is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support operations in Chicago, IL, or Atlanta, GA. You will partner with management on employee relations, compliance, compensation, and people operations for a unionized, high-volume transportation environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, 5+ years’ HR Generalist experience, and strong HRIS/MS Office skills. In-office presence is required M-F with travel to locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience in a high-volume, unionized setting.
• Direct experience with unionized workforce; knowledge of CBAs, grievances, and labor law.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.
• Experience improving HR processes and employee experience.
• Experience in intercity bus/transport operations.
• Experience with DOT-regulated employees and FMCSA requirements.
• Full-time in-office presence in Chicago or Atlanta; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Employee Relations (ER) – primary contact for employee relations matters, investigations, discipline, coaching.
• Compliance – ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws.
• Compensation Management – assist salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and merit reviews including union pay scales.
• Performance Management – manage end-to-end performance cycles, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Leave Administration – manage FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability, and leaves.
• Unemployment Compensation – manage unemployment claims and state responses.
• People Operations – maintain HRIS data accuracy and employee changes.
• Onboarding – oversee pre-employment checks, I-9, and new-hire orientation.
