Job summary

Flix is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support operations in Chicago, IL, or Atlanta, GA. The role partners with management on employee relations, compliance, compensation, and people operations in a complex, unionized setting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of HR Generalist experience, union workforce familiarity, and strong HRIS/MS Office skills. Full-time in-office with travel to locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience across listed areas.
• Direct experience with unionized workforce; knowledge of CBAs and labor law.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.
• Experience in intercity bus/transport or multi-location operations preferred and FMCSA familiarity.

Responsibilities

• ER – act as primary contact for employee relations, investigations, coaching and action plans.
• Compliance – ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Compensation – assist with job evaluations, salary benchmarking, and merit cycles; manage union pay scales.
• Performance Management – administer cycles from goal setting to evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Leave Administration – manage FMLA, ADA, disability, and other leaves.
• Unemployment Compensation – handle claims and state responses.
• People Operations – maintain HRIS data accuracy and process changes.
• Onboarding – oversee background checks, I-9s, orientations, and pre-employment steps.
