Job summary

The University of Texas Permian Basin is seeking Human Resources Generalist I and II to support HR operations, employee relations, hiring, benefits, payroll, compensation, and training. Positions involve onboarding, policy interpretation, and serving as a resource for employees and supervisors under varying supervision levels.

Generalist I focuses on routine, transactional HR work and first-line support; Generalist II handles moderately complex matters and may mentor Generalist I.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Public Administration, or related field; experience may substitute for education.
• Three years of HR experience across multiple functions including employee relations, benefits, onboarding, payroll, training coordination.
• Experience providing customer service or administrative support in a confidential office environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable software.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level employee and supervisor support; escalate sensitive matters to HR leadership.
• Assist with employee relations documentation and policy references; route concerns.
• Explain HR policies and processes in a service-oriented manner.
• Post requisitions, screen applicants, coordinate onboarding and documentation.
• Coordinate onboarding, training, and development activities; maintain training records.
