Job summary

The University of Texas Permian Basin is seeking an HR Generalist II to provide experienced, independent HR support across employee relations, hiring, benefits, payroll, compensation, and training. You will coach supervisors, partner with managers on recruitment, handle onboarding issues, and ensure compliance with classification standards while maintaining confidentiality.

Working under limited supervision, you will analyze moderately complex matters, prepare documentation for leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 3 years of HR experience in multiple areas; 6 years can substitute education.
• Experience developing and delivering training to groups.
• Ability to independently handle sensitive HR matters with sound judgment.
• Experience with HRIS or electronic HR records and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide experienced, independent HR support across employee relations, hiring, benefits, payroll, compensation, and training.
• Coach supervisors on performance, policy, and workplace concerns.
• Partner with hiring managers on recruitment strategy and screening.
• Handle onboarding issues and benefits inquiries.
• Format and quality-check job descriptions and classifications.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment.
