Job summary

New York Sports Club is seeking an HR Director to serve as strategic partner to functional leaders and to support a designated market. The role focuses on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, policy implementation, and compliance across the organization while driving HR projects and initiatives.

The position requires strong analytical thinking, project management experience, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; professional certification a plus.
• 5-6 years of experience performing human resource related functions.
• Extensive experience handling complex employee relations issues in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Working knowledge of EEOC and applicable employment laws, policies, and procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills with high attention to detail and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Model and promote NYSC mission, values and guiding principles with pride and integrity.
• Partner with Business Leaders to respond to field HR inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
• Support performance management, workforce planning and succession planning processes.
• Investigate escalated HR issues and high-risk situations; escalate as needed.
• Advise and maintain documentation on HR matters including terminations for consult.
• Maintain knowledge of Federal, State, and Local employment laws and regulations.
• Counsel managers on employee relations issues including discipline and policy interpretation.
• Ensure onboarding, immersions, readiness assessments and opening day requirements are executed.
• Deliver training modules on employment, compliance and related topics.
• Conduct mentor/mentee check-ins to ensure immersion and knowledge transfer.
