Job summary

Kinsale Insurance, a Richmond-based insurer, seeks a Human Resources Business Partner to serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees within Underwriting divisions. You will partner with management to drive engagement, performance, and talent while ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with business goals.

The role requires influencing managers across HR functions, coaching teams, and maintaining high service levels in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of Human Resource Manager or HR Business Partner experience.
• Proven knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance.
• Experience across HR functional areas including benefits, compensation, and recruiting.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and influence managers and employees at various levels.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Solutions-oriented mindset with initiative and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform HRBP duties for assigned Underwriting divisions providing consultative and tactical HR support.
• Coach and advise managers on workforce matters including engagement, performance, compensation, and talent development.
• Partner with leaders to address employee relations issues, assess risk, and recommend solutions.
• Support managers and employees in benefits, compensation, and recruiting.
• Identify opportunities to enhance HR programs and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive matters.
