Job summary

Queen Mary Hotel, operated by Evolution Hospitality, is seeking a Purchasing Manager OEM to oversee procurement and inventory for hotel operations. The role includes directing purchasing, vendor relations, and cost negotiation to ensure value and quality across materials, services, and equipment.

The position reports to Finance leadership, with overtime and high accountability in a fast-paced hotel setting. Exempt status applies; strong negotiation and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a business-related area.
• 3+ years hotel or related procurement experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
• Strong organizational skills for office control.
• Strong negotiating skills and professional communication.
• Solid decision-making and clear information conveyance.
• Ability to evaluate among alternatives quickly and accurately.
• Resilient under pressure and able to handle problems.
• Effective listening and understanding of stakeholders.
• Ability to work with financial data and basic arithmetic.
• Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Director and/or Assistant Director of Finance/Accounting.
• Provide friendly, service-oriented interactions with guests and staff.
• Uphold high standards of appearance and grooming.
• Maintain regular attendance per hotel needs and scheduling.
• Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations.
• Ensure departments have adequate supplies for duties.
• Purchase high quality products at the lowest possible price.
• Complete and approve requisitions prior to order.
• Assist Accounting Department as necessary.
• Coordinate purchases for capital projects with Finance and contractors.
• Prepare fiscal reports and update monthly checkbooks as needed.
• Conduct beverage inventories and reconciliations.
• Follow procedures for guest packages and handling fees.
• Coordinate with convention services for group packages.
• May set up pop-up delivery kiosks in the lobby.
• Achieve departmental objectives and goals.
• Maintain open communication with other departments.
• Attend meetings as necessary.
• Perform other duties as requested by Finance leadership.
