Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking aController to lead the financial area of the Best Western Honolulu property. You will guide profitability, ensure timely reporting, and maintain strong internal controls while safeguarding owners’ assets.

Responsibilities include cash flow management, variance analysis, capital planning support, and ensuring regulatory compliance across licenses, leases, and taxes. You will mentor accounting staff and drive continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years progressive experience in hotel accounting or related field.
• Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing; familiar with hotel-specific systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage cash flow statements, receivables, payables, cash balances, and deposits.
• Monitor hotel revenues/expenses and analyze variances against budget.
• Assist with capital planning, ROI calculations, and bid process oversight.
• Ensure compliance with licenses, permits, leases and taxes across properties.
• Prepare and review financial reports; maintain internal controls and asset safeguarding.
• Recruit, train, and develop accounting staff; supervise and coach accounting team.
