Highgate Hotels in Lahaina, Hawaii is seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to lead property accounting, ensuring timely financial reporting and strict internal controls. You will supervise staff, manage cash flow, and collaborate with department heads to maintain profitability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting.
• Strong PC skills including Excel, Word and financial accounting systems.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Long hours and sometimes required.
• Hospitality-related financial management and accounting experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Finance in timely preparation of monthly financial statements for the property.
• Prepare, monitor, and accurately record hotel revenues daily by preparation of the Income Journal.
• Monitor cash flow and operating forecasts for the property.
• Coordinate with Department Heads to ensure operations are on track.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and GL account reconciliations.
• Supervise accounting department staff.
• Ensure compliance with Highgate policies and internal controls.
• Manage receivables, payables, daily cash balances and deposits.
• Analyze financial data to advise department heads on financial objectives.
• Hire, train, supervise and develop staff; coach and discipline as needed.
• Prepare special reports and other projects as assigned.
