Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Chief Operating Officer for Morristown Medical Center to direct day-to-day operations across inpatient, outpatient, procedural and ancillary services.

In partnership with clinical leadership, the COO will drive patient flow, capacity management, safety culture, and continuous improvement using data-driven dashboards and KPIs, while collaborating with Finance on budget and capital planning to achieve financial performance goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations.
• Proven success in large, complex hospitals or academic medical centers.
• Experience in a tertiary or quaternary care environment preferred.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to drive efficiency and growth.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations across inpatient, outpatient, procedural, and ancillary services.
• Lead initiatives to improve patient flow, throughput, access, and capacity management.
• Build culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement with data dashboards and KPIs.
• Collaborate with Finance on budget, capital planning, and resource allocation.
• Represent the hospital in system initiatives, committees, and external relationships.
• Partner with medical staff leadership to align clinical and operational priorities.
