Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Director of Corporate Strategy & Development to shape the strategic direction of the company. You will evaluate and drive growth opportunities including mergers & acquisitions, partnerships, product investments, and market expansions, collaborating with the C‑suite.

You will lead cross‑functional execution of strategic initiatives and develop a robust M&A pipeline, delivering results and maintaining market leadership in the software space.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, corporate strategy, or corporate finance, with a preference for software sector.
• Proven track record leading multiple M&A transactions and delivering successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the VP to align the executive team on long‑term vision, growth objectives, and strategies.
• Lead cross‑functional execution of strategic initiatives including product investments, M&A, and partnerships.
• Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to refine M&A evaluation frameworks and identify target opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of M&A targets and strategic partners aligned with growth objectives.
• Lead all phases of the M&A process from pre‑deal evaluation to post‑close execution.
• Provide leadership in capital markets execution with finance, accounting, and treasury teams.
• Deliver strategic insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
