Job summary

BFL Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a senior Business Development professional to drive growth in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona. You will develop and execute tailored business development strategies, aligning with corporate objectives while advancing innovation and competitive advantage.

Reporting to the President, you will lead proposal initiatives, manage the bid process, and build relationships with clients and external partners to expand the project portfolio across markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• 8+ years of business development experience in construction/GC or related industry preferred.
• Strong technical and business writing skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communication abilities.
• Experience with strategic proposal development processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe InDesign.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development to expand and grow the project portfolio across markets (multi-family, commercial, health care, light industrial).
• Participate on the strategic team and help shape the company strategic plan.
• Create department objectives aligned to company strategy and empower the team to execute.
• Maintain market awareness to develop winning bid strategies.
• Lead proposal initiatives and collaborate on marketing efforts.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and the community.
• Represent the company at external events to boost brand awareness.
• Collaborate with Operations, Estimating, and Project teams to ensure client success.
• Involvement in preconstruction to align clients with values and strategy.
• Manage department functions including budget and workforce planning.
• Develop and maintain policies and systems to improve efficiencies.
• Cascade company goals and align teams for outcomes.
• Oversee proposal process from kickoff to submission.
