Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Resource Planning Lead to manage Integrated Resource Plans and related studies across multiple jurisdictions. You will coordinate analysts, regulators, and business partners to evaluate future resource needs, including generation, storage, transmission, and demand-side options.

The role combines project leadership, quantitative analysis, and stakeholder engagement, supporting regulatory proceedings and executive leadership with technical guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an analytical field such as engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business; OR two years of analytical experience.
• Three years as a Resource Planning Analyst, or ten years of related resource planning experience.
• Advanced degree will be considered as two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Integrated Resource Plans (IRPs) and other strategic planning studies across multiple operating companies and regulatory jurisdictions.
• Coordinate work across analysts, subject matter experts, consultants, and business partners to ensure quality deliverables.
• Direct resource optimization, production cost, and financial modeling efforts to evaluate capacity needs and alternative resource portfolios.
• Translate modeling results into actionable recommendations for executive leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports, regulatory filings, and expert witness testimony.
