Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative in Wisconsin is seeking a Senior Resource Planner to evaluate the generation portfolio, model power systems, and translate analysis into strategic recommendations guiding long-term supply decisions.

This senior role leads complex analytical projects, collaborates across departments, and supports Integrated Resource Planning, portfolio analysis, and risk assessment with independence and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another related technical field.
• Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in electric utility planning, generation planning, power markets, quantitative analysis or a related area.
• Track record of continued growth in technical capabilities and job responsibilities.
• Experience independently performing complex, non-routine quantitative or technical analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development of Integrated Resource Plan and future resource needs.
• Develop generation and energy modeling for long-range forecasts and portfolio analysis.
• Provide analytical support for generation investments and power contracts.
• Develop and improve analytical tools, models, and processes for resource planning.
• Collaborate with power production, energy marketing, finance, and other groups.
• Manage project scope, schedules, and coordination with leadership.
• Package results with writing and presentations for non-technical audiences.
