Job summary

Stony Brook University is seeking a Grant and Research Development Specialist to join the Division of Student Affairs. The role focuses on identifying funding opportunities, writing proposals, and supporting both pre-award and post-award activities to secure grant funding and manage awarded projects.

You will collaborate with research offices, the Sponsored Programs office, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely submissions and compliance, contributing to strategic growth and recognition in

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
Three years of full-time grants or proposal development experience.
Experience in higher education environment preferred.
Experience publishing peer‑reviewed literature preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the division in identifying funding opportunities and writing proposals to secure grant funding.
Assist with Pre-Award activities including creating budgets and timelines, and coordinating sponsor documentation.
Contribute to writing, formatting, and figure editing for grant proposals and applications.
Monitor grant expenditures, ensure compliance, and track progress post-award.
Develop tracking systems for grant statistics and milestones.
Create monthly internal funding opportunities and updates newsletters.
