Job summary

Kforce Inc. in Washington, DC seeks a Financial Grant Manager to support the financial management and administration of sponsored research grants. You will analyze monthly cash orders, funding needs, and timing, and monitor spending against grant budgets and milestones.

The role requires 3–5 years in grants management, deep knowledge of federal funding guidelines, and strong Excel skills. You will collaborate with research, finance, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate grant management.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a grants management role.
• Expertise with federal funding guidelines (e.g., 2 CFR 200, FAR)
• Strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of a variety of sponsored research funding mechanisms, including federal agencies (NIH, ARPA-H, NSF, DOD, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Support the financial management and administration of sponsored research grants
• Prepare and analyze monthly cash orders, funding requirements, and timing
• Monitor spending and financial activity against grant budgets, milestones, and program objectives
• Pull, analyze, and interpret financial data to support reporting and informed decision-making
• Monitor the financial progress of grants through various stages and milestones
• Identify potential financial issues, trends, and opportunities and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders
• Support the financial infrastructure associated with growing grant activity and pursuing additional funding opportunities
• Collaborate with research, finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and effective grant management
