Job summary

Imperative Logistics Group in Chicago, IL seeks a Controller to lead the Global Forwarding accounting team. You will own full-cycle accounting, oversee payroll, AP, Treasury, financial reporting and month-end close, and partner with executive leadership to drive accuracy, compliance, and strategic insights.

The role requires CPA, 5+ years controllership, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with ERP tools such as Cargowise or Sage Intacct.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in controllership with full-cycle accounting responsibility.
• Public accounting background and active CPA required.
• Strong communication and strategic thinking with executive exposure.
• Understanding of GAAP and internal controls; audit experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance and accounting operations for the Global Forwarding segment.
• Oversee AP, payroll & benefits, treasury, reporting, budgeting and month-end close.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and oversee audits and controls.
• Collaborate with IT to optimize AP reporting and financial systems.
• Provide narratives and analysis for executive leadership and forecasting.
