Job summary

Imperative Logistics is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the accounting team for the Global Forwarding segment. Based in Barrington, IL, you will oversee accounts payable, payroll, treasury, financial reporting, budgeting and month-end close, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will drive process improvements, consolidate acquisitions, manage internal controls, and provide timely narratives and analysis for executive leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in controllership with full-cycle accounting and financial analysis.
• Public accounting background and active CPA required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership (CFO/CEO/President).
• Solid GAAP knowledge and ability to implement related policies.
• Experience with internal and external auditing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead all finance and accounting operations for the Global Forwarding segment.
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll & benefits, treasury, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate month-end close, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP and corporate policies; manage internal controls.
